C4i Consultants will be assisting NATO’s Chemical, Biological Radiological, and Nuclear Events (CBRNE) Center of Excellence in conducting a capstone capability exercise in the Czech Republic this month. The exercise will use C4i Consultants’ Emergency and Disaster Management SIMulation (EDMSIM) to create realistic CBRNE events to which NATO would be respond with command and control and soldiers on the ground. The Government of Alberta today awarded C4i Consultants a Standing Offer Contract for Information Technology and Professional Resources. The purpose of this contract is to allow C4i Consultants to remain responsive to and support the Alberta Government’s ongoing efforts in Emergency Management and Public Safety Training. C4i Consultants’ sister company, Applied Training Solutions (www.appliedtrg.com) today installed Emergency and Disaster Management SIMulation (EDMSIM) at the United States National Guard Bureau (http://www.ng.mil/default.aspx) for Operational Research and Strategic Analysis purposes. C4i Consultants Emergency and Disaster Management SIMulation (EDMSIM) was used at a one-day Government of Alberta Emergency Partners Symposium, which was hosted by Alberta Emergency Management Agency. EDMSIM was used to visually demonstrate a variety of emergency scenarios for groups at the symposium and this lead to a tabletop discussion in each of the groups. The Counter Insurgency School ran a series of exercises using C4i Consultants’ Military Simulation (MILSIM) to run senior Iraqi Army officers through a number of complex and challenging “worst case” events in preparation for upcoming elections. MILSIM presented scenarios ranging from bridge bombings and sabotaged electricity grids to mass casualties at voting stations and the officers practiced coordination, information sharing and the actual conduct of their response using the simulation. NATO has adopted C4i Consultants’ Emergency and Disaster Management SIMulation (EDMSIM) for use at their Center of Excellence (CoE) in Vyskov, Czech Republic. The CoE is responsible for coordinating NATOs response to Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Events (CBRNE) as well as conducting training on these events during NATO exercises. C4i Consultants began installation of Emergency and Disaster Management SIMulation (EDMSIM) software at the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT – (www.azdot.gov) today. EDMSIM will be used to train emergency operations center staff as well as other first responder agencies in Arizona how to respond to complex and difficult all-hazards situations. ADOT is the second Arizona agency to take delivery of EDMSIM, the first being Arizona Division of Emergency Management (http://www.dem.azdema.gov/).

C4i Consultants will be exhibiting with Applied Training Solutions in Booth 835 at the Inter-service/Industry Training Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando, Florida. We will be demonstrating our MILSIM simulation system integrated with the US Army’s Command Post of the Future software in order to provide realistic stimulated training of a large command center with a single laptop. Additionally, our Emergency and Disaster Management Simulation will be running recent Chemical/Biological attack scenarios that were used for training the US Army in early November. The US Army awarded a contract to install C4i Consultants’ MILitary SIMulation (MILSIM) software at the Counter Insurgency School at Taji Air Base, just north of Baghdad. The Arabic-language simulation system will be the primary simulation tool for the school and will result in major savings in operating costs compared with other simulation solutions. The United States Army Region North is using C4i Consultants’ Emergency and Disaster Management SIMulation (EDMSIM) to help train over 4,000 soldiers as well as their civilian counterparts during EXERCISE VIBRANT RESPONSE in Indiana. The exercise simulated a 10 kiloton nuclear blast in Indianapolis and EDMSIM was operated by Applied Training Solutions (www.appliedtrg.com), C4i Consultants’ sister company in the United States. C4i Consultants’ Emergency and Disaster Management SIMulation (EDMSIM) was used during a tabletop exercise as part of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics security work-up training. EDMSIM’s GIS-based simulation was used to visually demonstrate multiple hazards within the tabletop scenario to focus and orient the exercise participants to the discussion. BAE Systems Integrated System Technologies Limited (http://www.baesystems.com/) today signed off final acceptance of C4i Consultants’ MILSIM simulation software for use on a Strategic Command and Control project for a major Middle Eastern country. C4i Consultants was pleased to see the continued adoption of the Arabic-language version of the software in the region. The sign off is the culmination of several months of custom software development designed to improve MILSIM capabilities for use as a test and acceptance tool. C4i Consultants was today awarded a contract to provide three portable, Arabic-language simulation centers to a major Middle Eastern army. The three simulation centers are being delivered as turn-key solutions later this year and will include hardware, software, training and support. The simulation centers will allow the customer to conduct training with a bare minimum of support personnel in any unit location within the country. The simulation centers will primarily be used for battalion and brigade level training and the entire system is stored and transported in rugged storage cases. The US Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation today awarded C4i Consultants a contract for an Arabic-language MILSIM Simulation System for installation at an Arms training school for a major Middle Eastern country. The installation will take place in June and will include hardware and software installation, computer networking and training as part of a turn-key program to update the country’s simulation and training capabilities. MILSIM continues to prove the utility of an easy to use simulation translated into the mother tongue of the training audience.

EDMSIM was employed to conduct another training exercise at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. C4i Consultants continues to work with MPRI to provide exercise support for the CDC pandemic influenza preparedness training. This exercise represents the first use of the web-based version of EDMSIM and represents a significant leap forward in Emergency Operations Center training. As this is the fourth in a series of CDC training events that have taken place between 2007 and 2008, C4i Consultants is extremely excited that MPRI and the CDC continue to rely on EDMSIM as their primary simulation tool. - EDMSIM

C4i Consultants continues to work with MPRI to provide exercise support for the Centers for Disease Control pandemic influenza preparedness training at the Federal and Regional level. This exercise will take place in the second week of September at Emory Campus in Atlanta and will feature C4i's EDMSIM product used as the Master Events Controller and Influenza Pandemic Simulator. EDMSIM Pandemic Flu Exercises At CDC Atlanta

C4i Consultants was today awarded a second contract to provide exercise support for the Centers for Disease Control pandemic influenza preparedness training. The exercise will take place in the third week of August at Emory Campus in Atlanta and will feature C4i's Emergency and Disaster Management Simulation (EDMSIM) product used as the Master Events Controller and Influenza Pandemic Simulator. Bruce Gilkes, president of C4i Consultants Inc described the win as "proof positive that simulation has an important part to play in emergency preparedness, whether it is within a federal exercise or for emergency preparedness within individual industries and companies." MILSIM completed a successful evaluation by the Canadian Army's Directorate Land Synthetic Environment (DLSE) in Kingston, Ontario. MILSIM had been undergoing suitability evaluations for use in the Canadian Army since August 2006. This allows a simulation center to go "on the road" with a series of laptops in hardened cases to visit units and organizations in remote locations. MILSIM was successfully delivered to the US Army's Logistics Management College (ALMC) today in Ft Lee, VA. The ALMC intends to use MILSIM to teach students how to conduct proper ORSA evaluations.
